Dept. of Sports Guidance contributes to the development of sports and the region by reinforcing the qualities of students as sports-for-all and physical education instructors via the study on all kinds of sports. It trains students to have an ability to be actively involved in various areas such as writing and operating physical education related exercise program. Also, it aims to train capable instructors who have professional knowledge in the field of sports science with theory and practice combined centering on various field experience and practical experience for living sports and lifelong sports.

Dept. of Practical Music develops professional artists capable of sustaining the global impact of Korean Wave represented by K-pop by helping students to enhance their popular art skills essential to new media. Based on practical stage experiences and specialized systematic curriculum, our programs are designed to equip students with practical skills so that they can work in the music industry as professional performers, song writers, arrangers, computer music song writers and producers, and music instructors. As Gangwondo's only practical music education entity covering performance arts inclusive of Korean traditional music, folk songs and percussion, we help students develop creative and original skills and artistic potential in practical music and grow into superior professional popular musicians boasting robust basic skills and novelty.

This department mainly targets adult learners to teach mind sports such as go, chess, bridge, and checker. These sports are divided into each category, and students learn the theories and practice to take the courses including the common subjects, electives, and advanced subjects. It aims to foster talents who can lead the mind sports cultural industry by encouraging them to have knowledge of mind sports and learn foreign languages to spread Korean mind sports around the world.

Working at schools, cultural centers, go academy, chess clubs, etc. after obtaining related certificates, or becoming mind sports instructor or international referee
